having a great time...till today

we have been having a great holiday in b.c. enjoying the weather and all the sites. we were in jasper for 2 days and the in-laws came which wasn't so bad. we then went for 2 days to clearwater, bc and hiked a whole bunch of trails to waterfalls and sites. it was beautiful. then we went to penticton for 3 days and had a blast. we took in the skateboard park (kids loved it), went jet skiing, took in orchard tours and the summerland sweets tour (love their products) and camped in an orchard. today we are in vancouver for the next 4 days. we are planning to go to stanley park, the vr aquarium, see china town and some other cool sites. we are also going to gabriola island to see my family as well. it should be fun. from there we travel to sicamous for 2 days and then banff for 2 days. we are then back home in time for the kids to go back to school. action packed.

tonight we went for dinner on the pier in ladner and while we were dining i missed a cell phone call. it was a call from my house so i knew immediately it was my sister. she is watching our house. i was somewhat concerned. i thought either our house flooded as i hear we had a lot of rain and an amazing thunder and lightening storm the other day or something happened to our guinea pigs. well i got the call while we were driving in the truck with the kids and i found out that it was the later of the two. my sons guinea pig, goldie died. my sister described it pretty well so i knew it was that one. she said she put it in a safeway bag and put it in our freezer. great frozen guinea pig in our freezer! anyways, i knew how upset he would be when he found out and he heard the whole conversation as he was sitting right next to me. he immediately broke into tears. i felt so bad for him. he went to sleep crying. i can't stand the little critters but my kids sure love them. not sure what happened but i don't think it had been healthy for a while. i hope this doesn't wreck the rest of his trip.

missing my dad

i have my dad's hard hat that he wrote his name on. it is my only piece of his handwriting i have. i have his work license plate on my shelf in my office too. man do i miss him. not a day goes by that i don't think about him. we lost him 3 years ago & 8 months to the day. i will remember that day for the rest of my life. it haunts me. i can still hear my mom say, 'they couldn't bring him back. we lost him". that was the end of my old life as i new it and the beginning of my new life. my new life has had MANY ups and downs (more downs than ups). i cope with it everyday. i know many people think it was your dad and so many of my friends have lost children which i could never imagine that loss. that would be astronomical. my dad was 55 when we died and it was very sudden. he had a cough. we thought at max he had pneumonia. never did we think he had a blood clot in his lungs. i am so glad i had him in my life for the 31 years i did. he was the most amazing person i ever knew and probably will remain that way until i go. so many of my friends have been there for me over the last few years and so many of them have dealt with great personal tragedy themselves in their own lives. thanks you guys (you know who you are) for being there for me and listening. for puting up with my hoards of "dad" scrapbook pages and just lending and ear. i don't know what i would have done without you.

thanks so much. i love you!

not kooky? whatcha' talking about?

my sister thinks i am not that spontaneous and a straight laced mom. well i don't think so. i am just as kooky as most of my friends an they are completely kooky!

what would i do without my pals?

last night i went with elizabeth, nikki & janna for dinner to earl's. after some great food, some yummy drinks and can't forget to mention the awesome weather, we came back and did our planning for scrapfest. had a great time with you ladies. cupcakes were fun too! thanks for your help getting our preparations in order.

you guys are a blast and i am so blessed to have such great friends like you in my life.

i love ya!

My Hubby Thinks I am On Glue...

I told him I want a camera that could take a photo of my hand and when i got the pic developed I could tell what it was. My old one, it was not even slightly recognizable. So he went to McBain's and told them he wanted a camera that his wife could see her fingerprint. Okay, what does that mean? He now makes me sounf like an idiot. Okay, no he makes him sound like an idiot because that wasn't what I said. This was what I said and here is what I was LOOKING FOR.

Thanks for the camera!

Look What I Got....

I got an early birthday present today... a new digital camera! I wanted a Canon Rebel and I got it! I have been playing since I got it. Janna has the same one so she showed me a few things to help me out until I read the manual! I am having a ton of fun or can you tell?

Here are pics of my scrapbook area, my scrapbook stuff I need to use, flowers in my office and some others.

What was he thinking?

I thought this was too funny! Can you imagine the laugh his folks got? Can you imagine how much that hurt to rip off? Especially his little thingy? Ouch!
