hard day for everyone....

it was 5 years ago today. hard to believe. i remember it well. my sister called me at about 8 a.m. and told me to turn on the t.v. i said "what channel?" and she replied with "it doesn't matter which one". i saw the first tower smoking and then watched as the 2nd plane flew into the tower. we were glued to the t.v. and watched the whole thing. i thought it was a joke and it couldn't be real. i had just had my baby girl not even 2 months before. i wondered to myself "what have i done bringing another life into this frightening and scary world?" my husband was next to me on a day off and was in shock and somewhat scared. he was a pilot and knew that no pilot would intentionally crash a plane into a building, especially not in manhattan and how could it happen twice? thank god jon was home for the day as the world was grounded for a few days. as a result, jon lost his job as no one was flying anymore. everyone was scared to. can you blame them? we had won a trip to mexico earlier in the year and decided to go to mexico and get away from it all. we sold our house while we were in mexico as now neither of us had a job. the day after we sold our house canada 3000 went under and jon's company decided that due to the fact canada 3000 was no longer around they were going to get busier so jon was re-hired. we then had to buy a new home. wow....it was a whirlwind. 9/11 really changed our lives. we didn't lose a loved one but it really affected our day to day life. after my son who was almost 3 at the time kept seeing planes crashing into a building, he was scared to let dad go to work. it was a scary time. now 5 years later, it is still scary to have jon go to work. he works out of the uk as well so all these terrorist plans and attacks scare us very much. i was on the cnn web site and found this site click here as it is a great memorial to the heroes of 9/11. it really puts things into perspective. it is very informative and very emotional. there were a bunch of kids that were killed on the planes. the youngest was 2. rest in peace. may we one day be able to end terrorism and live in a world of peace.

i still have this copy of people from 5 years ago.
